Davie Hudson – Tranquility : A view of the Scottish Highlands

The content of the exhibition is a pictorial journey through the Scottish Highlands in search of peace and quiet, away from the hassles of everyday life and all that brings. The photographs are deliberately devoid of people and the modern world with the aim to calm and to transfer the tranquillity that Davie feels when taking them to the viewer. There is a strong influence of water in the photographs that emphasises his own fascination with the movement and power. The pictures have a signature style that has been described as painter-like.

Born and Bred in Dundee Davie has been interested in photography for many years without finding his focus. He revels in the peace of the Highlands and find that he is at his best when surrounded by mountains and lochs. Davie has a deep love of his country that seems to permeate everything he does and this comes out in his photographs.
