Discovery 100 Appeal

In 2001, RRS Discovery celebrated her 100th birthday. This special anniversary saw Dundee Heritage Trust launch the Discovery 100 Appeal to raise funds for her future care and restoration.

Historic ships are particularly vulnerable objects and the conservation challenges of such a vessel are immense. Since her arrival in Dundee the Trust has been responsible for major phases of hull and rig conservation as well as restoring many of the interior cabins and furnishings.

A major two year conservation project started in March 2007 which is being generously supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
As a small charitable Trust we are always actively fundraising for the ongoing care and preservation of Discovery, one of the world’s most important and famous ships. Any contributions to assist us in this vital work would be very warmly welcomed.
