A new exhibition by edge-textile artists Scotland opens at Discovery Point on 19 October.
‘77° North’, showcasing new work from around 20 different artists in a variety of techniques and media, is inspired by the 19th century Scottish whaling industry, an industry once vital to the economy of Dundee.
Edge textile artists Scotland is a collective of artists who have either trained or are resident in Scotland and whose aim is to promote excellence in all aspects of contemporary textiles. The strength of the work produced by the members lies in the technical expertise, diversity of subject and the approach to design.
Edge held their inaugural exhibition in Dundee in 2000 at McManus Galleries, and had a widely acclaimed exhibition at Verdant Works in 2017. They are delighted to be to be returning to Dundee in October 2019, this time to Discovery Point.
